Host a Community Workshop
Path to Scholarships® Community Parent/Student Workshop
Individuals, schools, school districts, businesses, non-profit organizations, foundations, and churches, etc. can request to host a weekday or Saturday workshop. The workshop is open to the community and the public. Families register online and pay a flat fee to attend. The workshop is designed for parents and students in grades 7 - college to attend together. A flyer will be created and emailed to the host to pass out to their friends, the community, and other interested parties to advertise the workshop.
Come learn the scholarship process step-by-step. Participants will write their life purpose statements, set goals, learn to get superb recommendation letters, and write their rough draft of the winning essay.
Requirement Needs:
- A contact person with whom we can communicate
- A location preferably with tables and chairs or an auditorium
- A screen or wall upon which to project the PowerPoint presentation
- Participants to bring a sack lunch and a drink
- It is HIGHLY recommended that parents attend with their child(ren) so that the family is all on the same page. This also allows the parent to learn the information that will empower them to be an even stronger support system for their child(ren).
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Cost: Varies by location
1-3 hours from Dallas - $60 per family includes 1 book (for locations without room rental fees)
4-6 hours from Dallas - $70 per family includes 1 book (for locations without room rental fees)
More than 6 hours -varies depending on travel distance & mode of transportation

Books are required only by students. Students should have their own individual copy since they will complete writing activities in the book. IF you are a parent taking the place of a student, you will need a book. IF you are an adult planning to go to college, you will need a book.
